Catfish:

    - Corydoras Species:
You can just call hem all corys or cory cats as some prefer. They are some cute little guys, which come in all shapes and sizes. They are bottom feeders, who use their sensitive and delicate barbels to sift through the substrate for food. Because of this it’s important that they are kept in an aquarium with a substrate that consist smooth gravel, and NOT WITH SHARP, JAGGED, OR ROUGH rocks and/or gravel. Their barbels will be easily damage or completely amputated by sharp, jagged or rough rocks and gravel.

Corys like plecos require some type of hiding place. However unlike most plecos they are very social and do well in groups of at least three. They spend most of their time interaction with each other or searching for food, but this is only when they have a large enough group (3 or more) and when they have sufficient cover or hiding places.

They can tolerate ph levels ranging from 6.0 - 8.0 6.8 – 7.4 is ideal. Their temperature range is from 68 – 80°F, 70 - 75°F is ideal. Fortunately they can tolerate the summer heat in water temperatures in the mid 80s, but a heater is encourage to be use during the winter. They are freshwater fish but the use of some aquarium salt is recommended, preferable one teaspoon of aquarium for every five net U.S gallons.
