    - Guppies :
      These guys ate known as the millions fish. They are community fish, in which the fancier strains grow to 2in (females) and 1.5in (males), and the wild strains grow to 1.5in (females) 1in (males). The fancy strains can live up to 2 years (1.5 average).

      They can tolerate ph levels ranging from 6.0 - 8.0, 6.8 – 7.4 is ideal. Their temperature range is from *68 – 80* degrees Fahrenheit. Fortunately they can tolerate the summer heat in water temperatures in the high 80s, but a heater is encourage to be use during the winter. They are freshwater fish but they require some salt to survive, preferable one teaspoon of aquarium for every five net U.S gallons. However they do well in brackish water as well.

      Breeding is very easy. Most strains are very prolific and hardy. Making them Ideal for the novelist breeder. All you need is 2 (male and female) to start off with, and a minimum tank size of five gallons. The average strain can have 20 – 80 fry, and some strains can have up to 200 fry. The gestation period for an average guppy is 28 days. However there are some that have a gestation period up to 40 days. Unfortunately guppies are know to eat their fry but this usually isn’t the case. However to prevent the parents from eating their fry, they should be kept in a planted aquarium, preferably with java moss. The plant cover provides hiding places for fry to avoid hungry mouths.

      They are easily obtainable. They are one of the most popular fancy fish in the aquarium hobby. Almost every pet store with fish, and aquarium stores have fancy guppies.

    - Endlers :
      They are community fish most are very colorful. Just as the wild strains of guppies they grow to 1.5in (females) 1in (males). Some facts show that endlers my be a sub spices of guppies, and they can crossbreed.

      They can tolerate ph levels ranging from 6.0 - 8.0, 6.8 – 7.4 is ideal. They are true tropical fish and prefer temperatures of 78 – 85 degrees Fahrenheit. 80 degrees is ideal. Just as guppies they are freshwater fish but it is highly recommended that some aquarium salt is used, preferable one teaspoon of aquarium for every five net U.S gallons.

      Breeding is very easy. Most strains are very prolific and hardy. Making them Ideal for the novelist breeder. All you need is 2 (male and female) to start off with, and a minimum tank size of 2.5 gallons. The average strain can have 7 – 20 fry. Their gestation period is 23 to 26 days. Fortunately endlers are knot known to eat their fry, and its safe to leave the fry with the parents. If you observed your endlers eating their fry, the use a planted aquarium, or just use java moss or a type of floating plant to provide cover. They can and will crossbreed with guppies if they are in the same tank, please keep endlers separated from guppies. Their hybrids are often sterile, and those that are not sterile will have sterile offspring.

      Endlers are not as widely available as guppies. They usually can be found in locations along the eastern coast of the U.S. and Canada. There are locations further west but they can be scarcely found.
